Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.

mEn n WoMeNz COmMon MiStAKeS:

1. Your clothes don't fit correctly:Wearing baggy clothes will add weight to anyone. Clothes that are too small accentuate bulges and can make you look ridiculous.Don't buy anything thinking that it will be "just right" if you lose weight. Buy for the present and in relation to your clothes size now.

2. Wearing wrinkled clothes:A great suit or dress won't do you any favors unless it's wrinkle-free. Avoid this fashion mistake and buy clothes that are easy to care for and don't wrinkle easily.

3. Fashion trends that don’t suit you:Don't try to follow trends that don’t suit you. Keep in mind your figure and age and only wear what looks good on you. There is nothing worse than seeing someone follow fashion for the sake of it.

4. Wearing too many Colors:A common fashion mistake is using to many colors. As a general rule wear up to three colors only, for a easy on the eye coordinated look.

5. Wearing too many prints:Don't try to mix and match prints or you'll create a look that’s far too busy. Patterns don't look good on everyone. If you're one of those people that look good in just about anything, choose a pattern on the top or bottom, but not both.

6. Using the wrong accessories:Finish off with accessories that match your style and don’t over do it.

MeN aT wOrK:

1. Backpacks. OK, maybe this is just a misdemeanor, but you're trying to climb the corporate ladder, not hike up a mountain.Carry a briefcase or messenger bag -- and if you need something for your gym clothes -- invest in a nice-looking gym bag.

2. Stained clothes. Don't be that guy who's unwittingly walking around with red sauce on his shirt.Make it part of your daily routine to inspect your clothes when you take them off and when they come out of the wash to make sure you don't miss a spot. Watch for yellow circles under the armpits, soiled collars or cuffs.

3. Ponytails. You're neither a wizard nor a rock star. And even if you were, If you must keep your hair long, make sure it's neat and clean and doesn't fall past the base of your neck.

4. Novelty ties. It's okay to express your individuality through color or pattern. But stick with the classic width of about three-and-one-quarter inches and make sure the colors and patterns complement the shirt you are wearing. Not make people scratch their heads and say, huh?And one more thing: When it comes to how a tie hangs, it should reach the top of your belt buckle and have a dimple in the center of the knot.

5. Too much cologne. If you must wear cologne, get a quality brand. And since the same cologne smells different on each person, make sure to test it out and get some opinions.Beware of mixing too many smells at once. Remember, if you wear an anti-perspirant or aftershave, the scents can mingle for an unpleasant effect. And don't be too liberal in your application. The safest bet is to avoid wearing cologne all together and let the clean smell of soap do the talking

1. Too much makeup.

Too much makeup creates a harsh look and makes lines appear deeper. Keep your daytime makeup light and evening makeup a little darker. If you are unsure of makeup application techniques, see a professional. Many popular cosmetic counters at your local department store will provide a free makeup session.

2. Chipped nail polish

The idea of nail polish is to make your nails appear nicer. Chipped polish just brings attention to poor grooming.

3. Roots that show

If you color your hair, make sure you keep it maintained regularly. There's nothing more distracting than roots that are a different color than the rest of your hair.

4. Bras and bra straps that show:

When wearing sleeveless tops, ensure you wear a racer back bra. Don't wear bras that fit too tightly or don't provide good support.

ImPoRtAnT NoTeZ:

Relying too heavily on the fashion media.

You buy all the fashion magazines religiously, watch awards shows, read the paper and keep up with all the online sources. How could that be a mistake?By relying too heavily on the media to rule your wardrobe, you run the risk of being a fashion victim.Remember: most magazines and TV programs about fashion produce an "aspirational" effect. They present you with fabulous clothes you'll want to buy on fabulous models you'll want to look like. The problem is that a) you probably can't afford any of the clothes they show and b) you're never going to look like a supermodel or a celebrity.

Getting stuck in a style rut.

Sticking with classics has been conventional style wisdom for ages, and for women with full lives and limited resources this is still a sure way to investment dressing. The problem is that as we grow older, we sometimes become a little too comfortable wearing our old standbys (or just doing "replenishment" shopping each season).Sometimes all it takes is tweaking the basics that you already own to look fabulous..
